In support of Greensboro Parks and Recreation, the Greensboro Parks Foundation is pleased to offer a Tribute Bench Program. An honor or memorial bench is the perfect way to accent a city park, trail, or lake. Benches can be inscribed with a message of love, recognition, hope, or inspiration. The historical dedication provides a lasting tribute in honor or memory of a loved one and enhances the meaning of a bench to users of open spaces.
Foundation benches are 6-foot wide, made with recycled plastic teak panels and cast iron supports, and reside on an ADA accessible concrete bench pad. Total cost for a memorial or honor memorial bench is $3,000, which includes the bench, shipping, concrete pad, installation, upkeep, and a personalized plaque. Standard plaques are 8″ w x 2” h cast bronze and allow for a maximum of 3 lines and 18 characters/spaces per line. For an additional $155 (after paying $3,000 for the cost of plaque and shipping) a larger cast bronze plaque may be ordered that is 10.5” w x 3” h and allows for a maximum of 4 lines of text and 24 characters/spaces per line.

Please read and acknowledge the Tribute Bench Rules and Regulations before submitting your request. Participation in the Tribute Bench Program requires the adoption fee to be paid in full by the donor within ten (10) business days of the application approval. The adoption fee will cover the cost of installation and maintenance and when applicable, the purchase, inscription, and installation of a commemorative plaque. Proceeds from the Tribute Bench Program will primarily be used for installation and maintenance of benches, and for maintaining and enhancing Greensboro Parks and Recreation facilities.
