Overview:
The Lake Townsend Marina Dock Repair Campaign is a multi-phase effort to restore and maintain the “Tee” docks, protective bumpers, and dinghy docks at Lake Townsend Marina—one of Greensboro’s most popular recreational destinations. Thanks to generous community support, Phase 1 has been successfully completed, providing essential repairs to two “Tee” docks and improving safety and usability for boaters. The Foundation and its partners are now focused on the next phases to ensure long-term preservation of this vital public resource.
Project Goals:
- Phase 1 (Completed): Repaired two “Tee” docks with new boards, screws, and protective bumpers.
Budget: $6,000 for boards and screws, $4,000 for bumpers - Phase 2 (In Progress): Replace protective bumpers on launch ramps, corners, and concrete columns.
Budget: $1,500 - Phase 3 (Upcoming): Install new floating modules for dinghy docks.
Budget: $50,000 - Phase 4 (Ongoing): Continue long-term maintenance of marina facilities and equipment to ensure safety, accessibility, and high-quality experiences for all users.
