Overview:
Greensboro Parks Foundation has partnered with the Guilford County Veterans Memorial Board of Directors to support enhancements to the Guilford County Veterans Memorial, located at Country Park. The project will revitalize this cherished community landmark, honoring the sacrifices of local veterans and ensuring the Memorial remains a place of reflection, remembrance, and education for generations to come.
Project Goals:
Contributions to the Guilford County Veterans Memorial support a transformative effort to preserve its historic elements while advancing it into a modern, inclusive space that honors veterans of every generation, not just those of the 20th century, but all who have served since. Donations make possible thoughtfully designed landscaping, a UH-1M Huey display, improved accessibility, and the integration of interactive technology that bring veterans’ stories to life. These improvements ensure the Memorial remains both a place of reflection and a living tribute, one that educates, engages, and evolves. They also strengthen its role as a central gathering place for the community, hosting meaningful observances such as Memorial Day and Veterans Day.
